Velocity Voice supports sending and receiving SMS/MMS messages to and from your phone numbers. For SMS to be functional, it needs to be provisioned on your account. Please contact support for assistance on this.


Sending SMS/MMS

Sending SMS/MMS messages can be performed using the following methods.


From the GSWave Mobile Application

    1.) Please see the setup guide here for how to provision this application on your mobile device before proceeding. 

    2.) To send an SMS/MMS, tap the Messages section from the GSWave app, then tap the + sign to start a new message.


    3.) Enter the number that you would like to send an SMS/MMS to.

NOTE: Ensure that you are using 11-digit format and placing a 1 in front of the number, otherwise, your message will not send.


From the Web Portal

    1.) Log in to Portal

    2.) Navigate to Phone System > SMS

    3.) Select New Message at the top right-hand corner of the screen.

    4.) Enter the number that you would like to send an SMS/MMS to.

NOTE: Ensure that you are using 11-digit format and placing a 1 in front of the number, otherwise, your message will not send.



Receiving SMS/MMS

Receiving SMS/MMS messages can be performed using the following methods.


    1.) From the GSWave Application in the Messages section.

    2.) From the Web Portal: Phone System > SMS

Note: You will not receive any sort of real-time notification when an incoming text is received using this method. If you require real-time notifications of when an incoming SMS/MMS is received, then using the mobile application described in Step 1 is the preferred method.
